Our history
1995
First generation family establishes Radium Recycling in UAE, initiating recycling metals and electronics in the country.

1999
Radium Recycling practices achieve a significant breakthrough by recycling the first batch of printed circuit boards in the UAE. The process involves extracting metals from electronics through strategic partnerships with global refineries.
2012
Through their multifaceted industry experience and stemming from their educational backgrounds, entrepreneurs Youssef Chehade and Mohammad AbdulMoti, graduates from the American University of Sharjah, decide to build on the family business legacy and establish Ecyclex in Sharjah. With a sharp focus on e-waste recycling locally, Youssef & Mohammad nonetheless underline their commitment to environmental sustainability.
2014
Ecyclex establishes a state-of-the-art, full-scale recycling facility. The facility adheres to the best global practices, tailored to the unique demands of the UAE market. The company extends its recycling efforts to encompass a broader range of recyclables.
2021
Ecyclex inaugurates the first government-approved e-waste recycling facility in Abudhabi.
Simultaneously, Ecyclex launches the ReLoop app, designed to digitalize recycling services and make them accessible to homes and SMEs through optimizing a 'one stop' solution that targets unlocking communal awareness and making recycling easier than ever before!
Our Founders
Youssef Chehade, passionate about sustainability, conserving resources, and helping everyone in making recycling habits easier. He co-founded Ecyclex International Recycling with 3 recycling facilities in UAE, as well as ReLoop, a one-stop digital recycling solution that everyone can use to recycle from their companies and homes.

Mohammad Abdulmoti, deeply committed to sustainability and resource conservation, strives to simplify recycling practices for all. As a visionary co-founder, he established Ecyclex International Recycling, which operates three cutting-edge recycling facilities across the UAE. Additionally, Mohammad spearheaded the creation of ReLoop, an innovative digital platform designed to make recycling accessible and convenient for both businesses and households.

As a vital part of the UAE's circular economy, we emphasize environmental protection and food security. Through our sister company an innovative recycling app ‘ReLoop’; We simplify recycling for small to medium businesses and households promoting a zero-waste lifestyle. By making recycling accessible and transparent, we aim to embed sustainability in everyday life.

Our facilities are certified under ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety management), and ISO 27001 (information security management). We hold the National In-Country Value Certification, demonstrating our commitment to contributing to the local economy. Approved by several regulatory bodies including the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, we are dedicated to maintaining transparency, accountability, and ethical practices in all our operations.
Social
Ecyclex, is committed to Corporate social responsibility through impactful initiatives that support digital learning and community well-being. Our DYOD (Donate Your Own Device) program, in collaboration with The Digital School and Emirates Red Crescent, collects, refurbishes, and recycles second-hand devices for digital learning in underserved communities. Additionally, our UniSoap project repurposes used soaps from hotels into new soaps for underprivileged communities. By integrating digital education and sustainable practices, we strive to make a positive social impact and enhance community well-being.
